Compassion Fatigue & the Cost of Caring
Select a Training Date: Saturday, February 23, 2019 (WI-MN)
Training Times: 9am-3pm
After organizing and presenting at numerous NATIONAL TRAUMA TRAININGS it became apparent that Complementary and Alternative Medicine professionals and others have both a strong desire and need for natural medicine and crisis intervention continuing education as we assist those struggling with severe illness, disease, domestic violence, emotional trauma, natural disaster or civil unrest. Workers and volunteers seek personal and professional support in these difficult work situations, as well as natural medicine skills to sustain one's personal well-being while serving others in crisis.
Some of you may be coping with compassion fatigue, trauma or high intensity stress that impacts healthful living. For example, in clinical practice, it is not uncommon to receive crisis calls of high intensity every hour from those in need--a family member with cancer, death of a beloved, multiple chronic diseases or violence, even homicide that has brought that person to the brink of despair. This takes its toll on you, too, the caregiver.
You'll be interested in what our school has to offer...
During 2018, Gigi Stafne MH, ND, will be facilitating and teaching this one day intensive to help you nourish your personal and professional life as you do this incredibly important humanitarian work at this time in the world. This series goes far deeper than the usual 'caring for the caregiver' workshop. "I am hosting these training sessions because I care about you compassionately, have coped with previous significant traumas myself, and have worked in this professional field for 3 decades now. There are important insights, ideas and some amount of wisdom I have to offer you. Now more than ever, our human tribal circle and its caregivers need this."
